Eagle Court of Honor

On December 21, 2025, Shermans Dale Boy Scout Troup 007 held an Eagle Court of Honor ceremony for Grady Reisinger, Xzavier Carr, and Draven Stout at Youngs Church.

The Eagle Scout rank is the highest achievement in the Boy Scouts of America program, signifying exceptional leaderhsip, character, and service, requiring Scouts to earn 21+ merit badges, demonstrate Scout Spirit, hold leadership roles, and complete a significant, self-planned community service project before age 18.

Grady Reisinger installed four composite benches around the playground at the township Park on route 850 in Shermans Dale.

Xzavier Carr rebuilt and put in a metal roof on the historic bell tower pavilion at Blain picnic grounds for the Blain Volunteer Fire Department.

Draven Stout built eight, 14 foot picnic tables at Blain picnic grounds for the Blain Volunteer Fire Department.

Congratulations Scouts! Well done!

Did you know that Young's Church is the Charter Organization for Troop and Pack 007?
In November, Cub Pack 007 was privileged to spend time with PA State Representative Perry Stambaugh. The Pack was featured in Mr. Stambaugh’s Capital Report!
Way to go scouts and thank you Mr. Stambaugh for donating your time to help our scouts be successful!

Glass stained window replaced

Have you noticed?
The beautiful Young's Church stained glass window has recently undergone a major and much needed facelift!!
Although the origins of the window are lost to history, some of the longest members of the church remember the stain glass window as early as 1941.  When the gorgeous stained glass window was originally designed and created, it said “Youngs EUB”, which stood for Evangelical United Brethren.  Several years later, the window was updated to read as “Youngs United Methodist”. As time went by the window became severely bowed and was desperately in need of repair. Young's Church contacted Ehrhart Stained Glass Inc who took on the very challenging restoration project. 
The very experienced Ehrhart team skillfully removed the original window, completely restored, updated, and reinstalled the new piece.  The window now has ventilation to release moisture, and bars to radiate heat and push it out away from the building. This will prevent the window from bowing in the future. 
The gorgeous window now reads “Youngs Church”.
